Snap to Go

Snap to Go – Concept Product Animation
I started this animation project with the goal of showcasing a product idea through motion graphics. I wanted to work on something I’d actually be excited about—so I created a concept for a convertible shoe that transforms into a rollerblade.

Knowing that a good rollerblade needs strong ankle support, I went with a high-top shoe design. I explored three different concepts, all centered around a locking rail mechanism that snaps the blade into place—leading to the product name, Snap to Go.

The final animation follows a “drawn to life” concept, starting with 2D sketches that transform into a 3D product model.
Special thanks to Alex Jaquez for bringing the design to life through 3D modeling

Process Highlight: Motion Planning & Storyboarding
Before jumping into the animation, I created a series of quick thumbnail sketches to plan out how the motion would move across the screen. These rough frames helped me map the pacing, transitions, and visual flow of the piece.
While the final animation ended up simpler and quicker than my original thumbnails, the process helped me work through the movement and refine the concept. I also explored two alternate endings to give myself options before deciding on the final direction.
